Opis

On 4 November, Italian non-profit organisation Forum per la Finanza Sostenibile, global investor’s organisation the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change and the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs will co-host a side event of the COP26. It focuses on putting sustainable finance into practice.
You can register on the COP 26 side events’ website to follow the panel discussion from 14.00 to 15.00 CEST. The co-hosts and the European Investment Fund will provide the three panellists of the event, moderated by journalist Khalid Azizuddin from the media company Responsible Investor. Ulla Hudina, Deputy Head of Unit of the Directorate-General for Entrepreneurship and SMEs’ access to finance unit will deliver the introductory remarks.
Europe aims to be the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. This objective requires a major overhaul of the EU economy and considerable investments. Policymakers, investors and corporates are increasing efforts to ensure they are driving the transition to a sustainable and net-zero future. The event will explore new tools developed by the EU, such as the EU taxonomy and support programs aiming to mobilise private investments. It will also provide an opportunity to exchange on success factors and challenges for stakeholders when implementing sustainable finance policy.
