8th Raw Materials Week focuses on Critical Raw Materials Act

Starting today and running until Friday, November 17th, the 8th edition of Raw Materials Week will bring together a wide range of stakeholders to discuss policies and initiatives in the field of raw materials and provide an overview of ongoing EU activities in this sector.

Highlights of the week include the 10th annual High-Level Conference of the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) on raw materials. This hybrid event, co-organised with the mineral resources networking platform Eumicon, will take place on Wednesday and feature Thierry Breton, Commissioner for the Internal Market, who will deliver a keynote speech.

The conference will delve into critical subjects such as raw materials for the energy transition, investment opportunities, strategic projects, and fostering strategic partnerships in the raw materials sector. The focus of this year's Raw Materials Week will be the European Critical Raw Materials Act, with an extensive exploration of topics encompassing critical and strategic raw materials, strategic projects, investment, permitting, exploration, innovation, circularity, and international partnerships.

Raw Materials Week serves as a platform for the European Commission to engage with various stakeholders, including industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, and civil society. The goal is to promote sustainable and resilient supply chains, innovation, and responsible resource management.
