EEPA 2023 National Winners - Supporting the Digital Transition

CAT 3

We have already had a look at the national winners in Category 1 and Category 2 of this year’s European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA). Today we introduce you to the national winners in EEPA Category 3 – Supporting the Digital Transition. From 301 projects that entered the national competitions in 30 countries, 55 projects will now advance to the European stage of the competition, including four projects in Category 3.

EEPA Category 3: Supporting the Digital Transition recognises initiatives that support the digital transition of enterprises, enabling them to develop, market, and use digital technologies, products and services. This year, the national winners come from four different countries – Austria; Latvia, Portugal; and Sweden. These projects will now compete for a place on the final shortlist – to be determined by the EEPA 2023 European jury.

And so, without further ado – let’s take a closer look at the four projects shortlisted in EEPA Category 3. These are presented in alphabetical order by country below:

  • Austria: Open Innovation Platform is a digital open innovation platform that virtually connects experts from science and industry with a professionally interested public.
  • Latvia: Business Support Programme ZILE promotes the realisation of new products and innovations, strengthening existing enterprises and promoting the formation of new companies in the region.
  • Portugal: SINES TECH – Innovation and Data Centre Hub is a site for technology-based companies, located in the Sines Industrial and Logistic Zone (ZILS), the largest industrial park in Portugal.
  • Sweden: Go Cloud explores the use of the digital space to create a new approach to incubator operations, which enables people over a vast geographical region to work together.

All the EEPA national winners will receive invitations to the Awards Ceremony at the annual SME Assembly in Bilbao in November, where the winners in each category will be announced. This year the event will be co-hosted by the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission. At the SME Assembly, the jury will also announce the winner of the Jury’s Grand Prize, which can be from any category - the Grand Prize goes to the entry that the jury consider to be the most creative and inspiring entrepreneurship initiative in Europe.
