Enterprise Europe Network Annual Conference 2021 launched

Today, the members of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), policymakers and other relevant stakeholders are meeting for the 2021 EEN Annual Conference to discuss the future of the EEN and how to best support SMEs in Europe during their recovery from the crisis.

The Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) is the world's largest support network for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with international ambitions. It is composed of roughly 3,000 experts across over 600 member organisations in more than 60 countries including innovation agencies, regional development agencies, chambers of commerce and industry, technology centres, and research institutes. The EEN helps ambitious SMEs innovate and grow internationally by combining international business expertise with local knowledge across a range of targeted services.

The annual conference is the main annual event of the network, providing participants with an interesting and stimulating mix of EU policy updates, workshops, and networking sessions. It is a major forum for its members to meet and learn from each other and policymakers to improve the quality of services and further strengthen its structures through networking. EEN partners can also discuss strategic collaboration with other stakeholders on the ground.

This year, the conference will take place in a hybrid format in Stuttgart, Germany from 29 September to 1 October 2021 with around 2,000 people participating online. The overarching theme for this year's event is 'Reconnect, Renew, Recover': looking at how the EEN can best come together to support our SMEs and start-ups in building a sustainable recovery from the crisis. This year’s edition will be a special conference marking the end of the existing EEN and looking forward to the future EEN due to come into place on 1 January 2022 with an upgraded portfolio of services, including sustainability, digitalisation and resilience.

The conference will also include special award ceremonies promoting stories of SMEs that successfully adapted to the crisis, including a Special Recognition Award, a Best Practice Award and a Resilience Award.
