The dialogue aims to ensure full implementation of the Association Agreement with Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (AA/DCFTA) by supporting Ukraine on its reform path and continuing to build strong links between the Ukrainian economy and the EU Single Market.

The initiative puts an emphasis on regulatory alignment on specific issues, such as technical barriers to trade and public procurement. It also aims to support small businesses (through the COSME and Horizon 2020 programmes), improve cooperation on space activities (such as EGNOS and Copernicus) and enhance industrial cooperation (for example in the areas of raw materials and civil aeronautics).

Business representatives from both sides participated in the event and insisted on the need to continue improving the business climate in Ukraine to ensure a sound and predictable business environment.

As a result, the High Level Industrial and Regulatory Dialogue roadmap will be updated and work will continue at expert level before the 4th plenary session of the dialogue, which is planned to take place in Ukraine in 2020.
