Sligo Leitrim ITS Regional Development Project (Ireland)

The award for Category 3: Supporting the Digital Transition went to Sligo Leitrim ITS Regional Development Project (Ireland) for its Advancing Innovation in Manufacturing (AIM) Innovation Centre — a pioneering national network helping SMEs harness digital technologies to innovate and grow.

At the heart of Ireland’s northwest, the AIM Innovation Centre is helping small businesses turn digital ambition into real results. Through collaborative workspaces, demonstration zones, and hands-on mentoring, AIM empowers SMEs to adopt cutting-edge technologies like AI and roboticsm, creating an ecosystem that goes far beyond training to deliver real transformation.

The model was commended for building lasting capacity within the business community, helping SMEs not just experiment with digital tools, but fully integrate them into how they work, grow, and compete. Recognised in the Supporting the Digital Transition category, the initiative reflects how Ireland is preparing its enterprises to lead confidently into the digital future.
