Promoting Enterprise Podcast with Petra Kotuliaková

Petra Kotuliaková is the founder and CEO of Aj Ty v IT ("You Too in IT") — a Slovak non-profit empowering women and girls to thrive in the digital world.

Since 2012, her organisation has helped more than 51,000 women access education, mentoring, and careers in tech.

In this episode of the Promoting Enterprise podcast, Petra shares how she turned a shocking statistic, just 3% of female students in Slovakia’s top informatics faculty, into the driving force behind a national movement.

“We have equal rights, but we don’t have equal opportunities—especially in tech.”

What started as a volunteer-led effort now spans Slovakia, offering training for girls as young as eight and reskilling programmes for women returning to work. Her message is clear: no woman should be left behind in the digital age.

“Inclusion doesn’t just benefit women. It creates better teams, stronger companies, and more inclusive products.”

Petra also discusses the challenges of building a mission-driven organisation, the importance of self-confidence in women-led teams, and why she believes that risk-taking, not resources, is the missing piece in entrepreneurial education.

“We’re not just teaching coding. We’re showing women they have choices and the courage to make them.”

Listen to Petra’s story on the Promoting Enterprise podcast- a conversation about purpose, digital inclusion, and creating opportunities for every woman.
