Stakeholder consultation on the transition pathway for the energy-intensive industries ecosystem

The update of the EU Industrial Strategy highlights the need to accelerate the green and digital transition of EU industry and its ecosystems. It proposes co-creation with industry, public authorities, social partners and other stakeholders.

To initiate the co-creation process, the Commission prepared a staff working document outlining possible scenarios for a transition pathway toward a resilient, innovative, sustainable and digital energy-intensive industries (EII) ecosystem.

The Commission invites stakeholders to reflect and contribute to the scenarios and list key enablers for the transition of the EII ecosystem. The document invites the stakeholders to work together and propose concrete actions, commitments and investments at sectoral, national and regional levels of the EII ecosystem. It also asks stakeholders for an assessment of scale, cost, benefits and conditions of the required actions to accompany the twin transition of European EIIs.

Please share your contribution through the EU Survey questionnaire open until 22 November 2021.

Based on your input, we will deepen and focus the debate with stakeholder expert groups and, if needed, will organise dedicated stakeholder workshops.
