Your input wanted for guidelines related to the regulation on market surveillance and compliance of products

Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 on market surveillance and compliance of products strengthens and modernises market surveillance of non-food products in order to protect citizens from unsafe and non-compliant products and to provide a level playing field for economic operators.

Article 4 of the regulation specifies that, for certain product categories, there should be an economic operator in the EU that can provide information to, and cooperate with the market surveillance authorities.

The regulation requires the European Commission to draw up guidelines for the practical implementation of Article 4 for the purposes of market surveillance authorities and economic operators.

We would like to get your feedback on the draft guidelines that can be obtained by emailing us at GROW-B1atec [dot] europa [dot] eu (GROW-B1[at]ec[dot]europa[dot]eu)

Feedback should be submitted to the same email address by 17 April 2020.

We are also organising a stakeholder meeting on the guidelines in Brussels on Friday 21 February 2020.
