Maria José coordinates national and European I&I projects at the Portuguese Footwear Research Centre (CTCP), where she is responsible for the Test and Research Laboratories.
Her main areas of technical and scientific work include footwear materials and products, standards, advanced manufacturing processes and sustainable development.
She has coordinated more than 50 national and EU projects, mainly collaborative I&I projects involving European industrial SMEs and RTD centres, in the fields of new textile, clothing, leather and footwear (TCLF) materials, footwear and allied trade products, novel processes and technologies and environment.
Maria José holds a degree in Chemistry, a Master in Environmental Sciences, and a PhD in Environmental Engineering.
