Nikolaos Bilalis is Professor of computer aided design and manufacturing and director of the CAD Laboratory in the Department of Production and Management Engineering, Technical University of Crete.
His research interests lie in modern technologies for product and process development, manufacturing and life cycle assessment, 3D modelling for fashion products and their integration in the product development process, and AI in fashion products development.
He has participated in more than 60 national and European research projects and has served as evaluator for research, technology and innovation projects for more than 25 years, in various national, European and international calls.
Nikolaos graduated as Mechanical-Electrical Engineer from the National Technical University of Athens (1978), holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering Design from Aston University of Birmingham, UK (1979), and a PhD in Flexible Manufacturing Systems and Production Engineering from the Loughborough University, UK (1983).
