Description
The pilot project team organises training on the handling of payment-related disputes for around thirty accredited mediators active in the construction sector.
This event pertains to two separate dates for the same training in different languages, namely
5 June 2023, 08:45 – 12:30 CEST and 6 June 2024, 8:45 – 18:00 CEST (French)
12 June 2023, 13:00 – 18:00 CEST and 13 June 2024, 08:45 – 18:00 CEST (Dutch)
The training covers, among other things, common payment-related disputes and their causes, specific mediation techniques, the legal framework applicable to payments in B2B contractual relations in Belgium, and the importance of mediation clauses.
The training will be delivered by two seasoned and esteemed mediators with extensive experience in mediation in the construction industry: Thomas Braun (Simont Braun) and Erik van Wellen (Maverick Enterprise), lawyers and civil engineers respectively. The aims of the training are to understand the subtleties of mediation of payment disputes specific to the construction sector, to acquire advanced mediation techniques adapted to this sector and this type of dispute, and to interact with experts and experienced mediators in the sector.
