Every year, the Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission organise the European Tourism Forum. This year, the event will take place in Palma de Mallorca, on 30 October 2023.

The 2023 edition of the European Tourism Forum (ETF) will bring together EU countries’ public authorities in charge of tourism, representatives of the tourism industry and destinations, international tourism organisations and EU institutions. They will discuss measures and best practice for supporting the transition towards a sustainable tourism ecosystem. 

 The forum will include three roundtables:

  • indicators for measuring social sustainability in tourism
  • short-term rentals (STR) and the necessary balanced coexistence in cities
  • good practices around sustainable tourism employment

The next day, the Presidency will also organise an informal ministerial meeting together with Commissioner for Internal Market, Thierry Breton, and EU Ministers in charge of tourism.
