ELIIT Project announces 2nd call partnerships

We have kept you waiting long enough. The ELIIT project announced the selected partnerships between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the textile, clothing, leather and footwear (TLCF) sectors and technology owners/providers from its second call for proposals. The 10 selected partnerships received an outstanding evaluation from among the 96 partnership proposals submitted in the call, which closed on 14 April 2021.

These 10 partnerships will allow the participating TCLF SMEs to improve their competitiveness by helping them to integrate new technologies in innovative or high added-value products, processes or services. The selected partners come from the following countries participating in the EU’s COSME programme for SMEs: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and Turkey.

The partnerships will work on the following innovation priorities

  • Advanced digitised manufacturing, value chains and business models
  • Smart, high-performance materials
  • Circular economy and resource efficiency

Each partnership will benefit from

  • €70,000 in financial support to develop products or prototypes with high added-value and profitability
  • tailored coaching to improve the relevancy of the project and increase its potential
  • networking and participation in workshops/conferences and exhibitions to aid market-positioning and build business relationships
  • intellectual property rights organisation and guidance

Awarded partnerships by innovation priority

Smart, high-performance materials

3DFlax – Deploying additive manufacturing with textile-based natural fibre composites, covering technology innovation in textile and clothing. The partnership leader is the TCLF SME B PREG Kompozit ve Tekstil Müh. Dan. San. Tic. A.Ş. (Turkey) and the partner is the technology provider/owner Stichting Saxion (Netherlands).

OLAF - Low-cost environmentally friendly APGD treatment of carbon fibre woven fabrics to improve their performance in continuous carbon fibre reinforced polyamide composites, covering technology innovation in textile and clothing. The partnership leader is the TCLF SME Texfire textils tecnics S.L. (Spain) and the partner is the technology provider/owner LEITAT Technology Centre (Spain).

Dynabric - Upscaling production of Dynaback Garment, covering technology innovation in textile and clothing. The partnership leader is the TCLF SME MADesign OOD (Bulgaria) and the partner is the technology provider/owner Marcel Liebaert NV (Belgium).

EMYCLOTH - Develop a MYcelium based Exclusive Capsule collection exploiting digital technologies and sustainable bio-design, covering technology innovation in footwear and leather. The partnership leader is the technology provider/owner MOGU (Italy) and the partner is the TCLF SME Bond Factory SRL (Italy).

VEGANMAT - Bacterial cellulose-based vegan material, covering technology innovation in footwear and leather. The partnership leader is the technology provider/owner Darwin Bioprospecting Excellence S.L (Spain) and the partner is the TCLF SME Hijos De Oscar Botella Sempere S.L (Spain).

3In-TEX - Integration of sensors for development of Interactive Intelligent textiles, covering technology innovation in textile and clothing. The partnership leader is the TCLF SME TESSITURA PERTILE S.R.L (Italy) and the partner is the technology provider/owner Centre for Nanotechnology and Smart Materials (Portugal).

Circular economy and resource efficiency

BInc - Biogenic Inc, covering technology innovation in textile and clothing. The partnership leader is the technology provider/owner VTL GmbH (Austria) and the partner is the TCLF SME Studio Ilfa Siebenhaar (Netherlands).

CW - Circular Wool, covering technology innovation in textile and clothing. The partnership leader is the TCLF SME Lottozero società cooperativa sociale (Italy) and the partner is the technology provider/owner Casalis (Belgium).

L3R - Leath3R Sustainable Leather Program, covering technology innovation in footwear and leather. The partnership leader is the TCLF SME Banti Società Commerciale SRL (Italy) and the partner is the technology provider/owner We Are S.R.L. (Italy).

DFN - Dyeing from Nature, covering technology innovation in textile and clothing. The partnership leader is the technology provider/owner Fili Pari Srl. (Italy) and the partner is the TCLF SME Dyeberg s.p.a. (Italy).

The ELIIT Consortium, together with the recently updated ELIIT Steering Board, the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs as well as the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA), reviewed the shortlisted partnership proposals. The partnerships were selected based on well-developed and transparent criteria, ensuring the right balance of geographic, technological and sectoral diversity.
