Recognition of third-country national qualifications

In 2023, the European Commission issued a recommendation to EU countries to simplify the recognition of qualifications for third-country nationals.

It aims to make the EU more attractive to third-country nationals and support their integration into EU labour markets. Complex or slow recognition processes can deter or block third-country nationals from applying for recognition or considering working in a particular country.

The recommendation outlines how EU countries can speed up the recognition of qualifications for accessing regulated professions, further learning, or labour migration.

To follow up, the European Commission hosted three webinars between April and June 2024. These webinars connected stakeholders in recognition, migration, and employment to discuss future cooperation. See the webinar report and presentations below.
