As early as 2016, the European Commission declared that blockchain will be an innovation priority for all policy areas in the EU in the coming decades, especially for the real economy.
While most of this policy work has so far focused on blockchain applications in finance, the maturity and proven utility of blockchain is now also leading to widespread use in industrial ecosystems. This trend will further accelerate and rapidly increase opportunities for European businesses in the years to come.
The conference will bring together decision makers and leading European experts from the public and private sector, including the Belgian Secretary of State for Digitisation Mathieu Michel, MEP Ondřej Kovařík and senior European Commission representatives. Industry leaders, start-ups and leading experts from Europe’s most significant blockchain associations will also be present.
During this conference, these associations will issue a joint statement on the future of blockchain for industry, followed by conclusions from DG GROW.
