Conference on the new Construction Products Regulation 2024

On 30 October 2024, the European Commission organised a full-day conference on the new Construction Products Regulation (CPR). Its main objective was to explain the provisions of the new CPR, which will enter into force by the end of this year.

Kerstin Jorna, Director-General of the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship, and SMES (DG GROW), opened the conference with a video message, emphasising that implementing the new CPR will be one of the pillars of the European Affordable Housing Plan.

The conference welcomed a broad audience, including manufacturers, importers, distributors, suppliers, users (architects, engineers, construction companies), standardisation organisations, national authorities (market surveillance, product contact points for construction), notified bodies, and technical assessment bodies. Over 150 participants attended the conference in person, while more than 1 500 joined online.

DG GROW structured the conference into 6 sessions, beginning with an introductory presentation followed by a panel discussion of experts from diverse backgrounds, who brought specific stakeholders’ perspectives.
