Description
After visiting the EU booth (337) at the trade show, we invite you to come and find out about opportunities in the EU raw materials value chains during two separate events hosted by the European Union.
Event 1: Building Resilient EU Raw Materials Value Chains
Business and networking breakfast, 9:00 - 12:00 Eastern Daylight Time.
The Business and Networking Breakfast aims to
- share the EU’s values on sustainable and responsible mining
- promote investment opportunities in the EU exploration and mining sectors
- highlight business opportunities within the EU’s innovative mining equipment and services sector
- raise awareness about the EU needs for secure and sustainable supply of raw materials
The green and digital transition strongly rely on a sustainable and responsible supply of raw materials. We secure this supply through sustainable production in the EU and responsible sourcing from third countries. As part of the action plan for critical raw materials, the EU implements several actions to increase its internal production. The EU is also the world’s leading exporter of mining equipment and services and holds a competitive advantage in the raw materials sector. Several measures promoting innovative exploration, extraction and processing of raw materials support this.
Event 2: EU Research & Innovation for Sustainable Raw Materials Value Chains
Technical presentations, 14:00 - 17:30 Eastern Daylight Time.
Cocktail reception, 17:30 - 18:30 Eastern Daylight Time.
Horizon Europe is the key EU funding programme for research and innovation. Together with the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), it helps the European Commission rebuild a post-COVID-19 Europe. A Europe that will be greener, more digital, more resilient and a better fit for the current and forthcoming challenges.
The Horizon Europe programme facilitates collaboration and strengthens the impact of research and innovation in developing, supporting and implementing EU policies while tackling global challenges. It helps create and better distribute excellent knowledge and technologies. The programme supports the European Innovation Partnership on Raw Materials, the EU Raw Materials Initiative, and further develops the raw materials sector in Europe by funding transnational research and innovation activities.
