Geographical Indications Capitals Tour
Exploring tradition, crafts and quality across Europe’s capitals in 2025 and 2026!
Discover traditional and cultural heritage with the Geographical Indications Capitals Tour - a series of events hosted by EU countries and supported by the European Commission, and European Union Intellectual Property Office.
The tour features thought-provoking conferences and interactive workshops, showcasing the best of EU craftsmanship and artisanal products from the 27 EU countries.
Immerse yourself at each venue in a vibrant gallery featuring traditional and handcrafted products, behind which lie stories and skills waiting to be discovered. This is your chance to discover local specialties, meet producers and learn about the importance of geographical indications for protecting traditional know-how and artisanal treasures in your country or region.
This exciting EU capitals tour celebrates the launch of a new protection system for craft and industrial geographical indications. Effective as of 1 December 2025, this system safeguards the authenticity of traditional products in Europe and beyond. By replacing fragmented national laws with an EU-wide protection title, producers are now able to access new markets and promote their product names with a single name!
