Directorate-General for Entrepreneurship at European Youth Event in Strasbourg to inform young people about EU support for entrepreneurs

From 8-9 October, thousands of young people will attend the European Youth Event online and in person. The Commission is present at this European Parliament organised event with many workshops and information sessions.

The Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs presents support actions and financing available for future entrepreneurs and those who want to scale their startup. At our second session, we invite young people with good business proposals to pitch their idea to an international jury of investors.

The pandemic has shown the importance of entrepreneurial spirit, both for the economy and society. The European Union supports future entrepreneurs and companies in many ways. We are presenting these support actions on 8 and 9 October to the 2021 European Youth Event (EYE) attendants.

The Directorate-General for Entrepreneurship and SMEs' staff will be present at the European Commission tent to answer questions about our support programmes and initiatives. To complement this, we offer a workshop that goes into more detail on various actions and financial support available from the EU.

One of our flagship initiatives is Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs. Young people with business ideas can pitch them to our international jury, get free advice on their business plans and for future pitches and, who knows, maybe get some start money for their idea.

Both our initiatives were fully booked within the first hour the programme was online.
