Industrial Forum reconvenes to exchange on key industrial competitiveness matters

Today, the Commission is hosting the 6th meeting of the Industrial Forum, which provides the Commission with expert advice on the implementation of the EU’s industrial policy. The meeting will cover three key dimensions of industrial competitiveness, namely (i) the transformation of Europe’s industry through the Green Deal Industrial Plan, (ii) the international dimension, in particular the EU’s Global Gateway strategy, and (iii) the 30th anniversary of the single market.

Executive Vice-President Margrethe Vestager will deliver a keynote speech and Commissioner Thierry Breton will lead a high-level exchange with the Industrial Forum on the policy response to the key challenges faced by industry.

The forum’s view will inform further reflection on  the upcoming Commission’s initiatives on the Critical Raw Materials Act and Net Zero Industry Act, as well as in view of the recent European Council Conclusions and forthcoming meeting on 23-24 March. Youth representatives appointed by Industrial Forum members will also have the opportunity to comment and share their ideas to shape Europe’s industrial future.

The Industrial Forum’s members are made up of representatives from EU countries and stakeholders from industry, academia, civil society, trade unions and other organisations.
