World Youth Skills Day: Empowering the Next Generation with Entrepreneurial Skills

The 15th of July was declared World Youth Skills Day by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. The day highlights the strategic importance of equipping young people with the necessary skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

2024 World Youth Skills Day

The 2024 World Youth Skills Day is themed “Youth Skills for Peace and Development”, reflecting the role that young people can play in peacebuilding and conflict resolution – one of the many challenges faced by people around the world. The day commits to providing young people with the necessary skills and opportunities to address global issues and contribute to a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable future.

Why not celebrate the potential of young people by taking part in an opportunity to drive real, transformative change? The 2024 Youth Start-Up Competition (YSC) allows young entrepreneurs living in EU or COSME countries, aged between 18 and 25, to showcase their innovative start-up ideas in response to pressing global challenges, from sustainability to social inclusion and technological advancement.

Submissions for the Youth Start-Up Competition 2024 are open until 20 September 2024! Don’t hesitate – apply now to help shape a better future for Europe.
