Grow Economics Meetings - 'GEM' seminars
The GEM seminar series is a platform to discuss microeconomic and analytical work in areas relevant to single market and industrial policy. Speakers are typically from outside the European Commission. The series is open to all Commission services and exceptionally to external audiences.

Research Conference on the single market
The European Commission’s Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs organises the Research Conference on the EU single market. The past editions took place in December 2022 and February 2024.
The conference brings together academic researchers to present their findings and policy insights related to the EU single market. You can find the papers presented at the conference on the Single Market Economics Papers series webpage.
Chief Economists Network with the Commission services
The Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs has also set up a Chief Economists Network within the Commission services (CEN-COM) with the aim to boost the evidence base in support of the EU industry and single market agenda.
The CEN-COM is jointly run with the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs and comprises chief economists from the Commission services.
